Title: Quiet Moment

Rangitoto Island is a volcanic island located in the Hauraki Gulf in Auckland, New Zealand. It is one of the well known icons of Auckland city. Rangitoto Island has an unique and very creative symmetrical shape naturally.

This image was captured was captured in Mission Bay, one of the well known beach in Auckland. I was intended to use the symmetrical Rangitoto Island to create a symmetrical image with the trees on both side and the couple on the bench. However, from the viewfinder I saw the composition was boring if the whole image was placed in a fully symmetrical way. Therefore the bench and the summit of Rangitoto Island were placed beside the centre line of the frame, and they acted and offset to each other. 

I post processed the image to painting look with canvas texture to create that timeless touch. Similar to my other awarded print "Sorted", the finished print was printed on a mat paper for the contrast and texture, it was also mounted with a white mat that has similar texture.
